MARBELLA – Rapper Tory Lanez denies that he has compared Tekashi 6ix9ine with the legendary rap icon Tupac Shakur.

Tory Lanez appeared on December 3 in an interview with Tim Westwood where he talks about 6ix9ine, who is currently in jail after being arrested for racketeering and firearms charges.

Tory Lanez said in the interview with Tim Westwood: “It’s really sad to see somebody at that platform…it kinda reminds me of, like, Bobby Shmurda. But Bobby Shmurda didn’t even get to go as far.”

Lanez continues: “For somebody to go that far, you got Kanye, Nicki Minaj, your album’s dropping. It’s like, the only nigga who had shit like that popping was Tupac. When Tupac was in jail he dropped the biggest album. Not to say it was the biggest album of all fucking time, but it was a pretty big moment. It’s sad he’s gotta be locked up during it, is all I’m saying.”

The rapper’s statement has caused people to raise eyebrows because they think Lanez has made a comparison with 2PAC.

The reason Tory Lanez expressed his opinion about rapper Tekashi69 is because the radio host Westwood turned the 6ix9ine junction halfway through the show to comment on the colorful rapper and said: “Shout out to 6ix9ine … I hope that situation works man.”

Tory Lanez responds on Twitter the next day and denies that he was not comparing with Tupac and said: “I did not compare 6ix9ine to 2 pac … I just said they both dropped big albums from jail at the level of fame that they had . Get off my dick.”

What is a comparison?

A comparison is a form of imagery that explicitly mentions the similarity between the subject and something else with the words same, like or similar, genitive or a linking verb.

Tory Lanez said: “it kinda reminds me of, like, Bobby Shmurda. But Bobby Shmurda didn’t even get to go as far. For somebody to go that far, you got Kanye, Nicki Minaj, your album’s dropping. It’s like, the only nigga who had shit like that popping was Tupac”

The bold words are comparative words. The rapper made a comparison between 6ix9ine and Tupac Shakur, regardless he talked about the situations, the comparison was made with the icon 2PAC.
