A former Chinese government official said at a hearing in front of six former US congressmen that there is extraterrestrial life.
Ufologist Sun Shili, which was formerly part of the Chinese diplomatic corps, made his claim during the so-called Citizen Hearing on Disclosure, writes the Daily Star.
“After spending spent years researching, a large number of Chinese ufologists, including myself, are convinced of the existence of UFOs and aliens,” he told the panel.
He also said he worked as a professor at a university, and delved in the 70’s deeper into the UFOs and the mysteries of the universe.
“I have also written articles that are included in the Chinese encyclopedia,” he added.
“The creation of this prestigious encyclopedia helped include Shituan Shen, a famous scientist in my country.”
Tens of Millions
Shituan, a rocket scientist and former head of the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (now Beihang University), said that every UFO sighting should be investigated.
“Some sightings are real, some are fake and sometimes it is not immediately clear,” he said.
“All of these phenomena should be investigated,” he continued.
According to Sun Shili, who saw his first UFO in 1971, tens of millions of Chinese can be seen as UFO enthusiasts.
